Daily Itinerary:


Gathering Day- September 17
  • Travelers can arrive on your own at the Chicagoland hotel for a complimentary "gathering overnight" or choose to join the group on September 18 from one of our identified pick up locations
  • For those spending the gathering overnight at the Chicagoland are hotel, get acquainted with fellow travelers and your tour manager
DAY 1- September 18 (D)
  • This morning, travelers departing from WISCONSIN, ILLINOIS & INDIANA join the tour
  • Sit back and leave the driving to us! Enjoy your ride as we motor our way to Erie, PA
  • After our journey today, we’ll enjoy dinner together prior to a restful overnight at the Sheraton Erie Bayfront Hotel 
DAY 2- September 19 (B)
  • First up, one of our tour highlights - Niagara Falls. We’ll take a ride of a lifetime on the Maid of the Mist!
  • The rest of the day is yours to explore. PLEASE NOTE: Should you wish to explore the Canadian side of the Falls; you will need a valid passport and potentially additional documentation as required by the Canadian Government
  • Our relaxing overnight will be at The Point-Comfort Inn Niagara Falls
DAY 3- September 20 (B)
  • Welcome to Vermont – the “Green Mountain State”
  • Upon arrival at our overnight, The Grand Hotel in Killington, enjoy a leisurely evening and dining on your own at the restaurant on property
Day 4- September 21 (B,D)
  • We’ll start our day with the crisp Vermont air on a guided tour
  • Visiting the New England Maple Museum, we’ll learn maple syrup history, taste some samples and YES, you can purchase some for taking home!
  • We’ll travel back in time at Plymouth Notch, the birth place of President Calvin Coolidge – our 30th President
  • Enjoy exploring and lunching in the village of Woodstock
  • More scenic views abound at Quechee Gorge as we travel to New Hampshire for our two-night stay in Gilford at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott
  • Tonight, we’ll enjoy dining together

DAY 5- September 22 (CB,D)
  • Our local guide will welcome us to New Hampshire – “the Granite State”
  • Enjoy colorful Franconia Notch State Park, with a stop to view the Old Man of the Mountain
  • Photo stops are ours at Crawford Notch, including Elephant Head and Silver Cascade
  • Enjoy free time in North Conway prior to a Loon Gondola ride, which offers breathtaking views of White Mountain National Forest
  • Vibrant colors continue along the Kancamagus Highway – noted as one of the best fall foliage viewing locations in the US
  • Dinner will be enjoyed together tonight
DAY 6- September 23 (CB,D)
  • Driving through the beautiful “Lakes Region” of New Hampshire we’ll arrive at southern Maine’s seacoast
  • Our local guide will welcome us to Maine, "the Pine State," with a morning tour of Kennebunkport, including a drive past the Bush compound
  • We’ll discover the history of Portland with a guided tour of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s (works include “Paul Revere’s Ride”) boyhood home and a stop at the Portland Head Lighthouse – the most photographed lighthouse in America
  • Prior to a restful night – the first of two-nights at the Hampton Inn in Portland - we’ll dine together
DAY 7- Septmeber 24 (B,L)
  • A wonderful way to start the day – setting sail on a scenic, narrated Boothbay Harbor Cruise. We’ll view beautiful vacation homes, lighthouses, and small islands. We may even get acquainted with a few of the local residents – seals - barking greetings as we pass by
  • Donning our souvenir lobster hats (a truly unique fashion statement), we’ll be ready for our traditional Maine Lobster lunch. (An alternate selection is available for “land-lubbers”)
  • Located on the banks of the Kennebec River, the Maine Maritime Museum depicts Maine's shipbuilding industry from the 1600s to the present
  • Enjoy a free evening to relax and enjoy dinner on your own
DAY 8- September 25 (B,D)
  • Welcome to Massachusetts - "the Bay State," where our first stop will be Old Sturbridge Village, a re-creation of an 1830s rural New England town
  • The afternoon is yours to enjoy lunch on your own and strolling through this historic community
  • Let the Fireplace Feast begin! A truly mouth-watering dining experience awaits us at the Salem Cross Inn, starting with prime rib roasted over a crackling fire and ending with home-made deep dish apple pie with freshly whipped cream
  • After a taste-bud delighting dinner, enjoy a restful overnight at the Comfort Inn & Suites, Sturbridge
DAY 9- September 26 (B,D)
  • We begin our journey home traveling scenic byways to Pennsylvania
  • Share with your fellow travel mates fond memories of the sights, sounds, tastes and the people met during our travels
  • Prior to our overnight at the Best Western Hotel Plus in Lewisburg, PA, we’ll enjoy dining together
DAY 10- September 27 (B)
  • We say “goodbye” to our travelers who depart the tour in INDIANA
  • Travelers continuing on to Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa & Minnesota, enjoy a relaxing overnight in Mishawaka
DAY 11- September 28 (B)
  • We return home!
