Daily Itinerary:

Gathering Day - September 9
  • Group air transportation is available on this tour as an optional upgrade package. If group air is not taken, meet the group in Boston, MA on September 10, 2023 at Logan Airport to begin the tour. Please make sure to schedule your flight to arrive prior to the start of the tour
  • For those travelers choosing group air transportation departing from IOWA, INDIANA and MINNESOTA, you will enjoy a transfer to our Chicagoland hotel for a gathering overnight. Travelers purchasing the air package departing from ILLINOIS and WISCONSIN can either arrive on your own in the Chicagoland area for a complimentary overnight; or choose to wait and join the group on September 10 from one of our identified ILLINOIS and WISCONSIN pick-up locations
  • For those spending the night at the Chicagoland hotel, get acquainted with fellow travelers and your tour manager, and enjoy a complimentary breakfast the following morning

Day 1- September 10 (D)
  • We start our adventure with a visit to “America’s Hometown” - Plymouth
  • Our photo stops will include the Forefather’s Monument which welcomes those who come by water, and Plymouth Rock, the traditional site of Pilgrim disembarkation
  • In Plymouth, we’ll also view the newly restored Mayflower II, a reproduction of the ship that brought the Pilgrims to their New World home
  • Enjoy the panoramic views as we continue on to our home-away-from-home – The Cape Codder Resort
  • After a day of travel, we’ll gather together for dinner

Day 2- September 11 (B,D)
  • This morning we’ll meet our local guide prior to boarding a ferry to stunning and historical Nantucket, proclaimed the whaling capital of the world from 1690 to the 1800s
  • We’ll view the Island’s sites and learn about its past and the present while on our included Nantucket Island Tour
  • Enjoy time on your own for lunching, shopping and exploring. [Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes as one of Nantucket’s charms are the cobblestone streets and brick sidewalks]
  • While dining together tonight, we’ll have the perfect opportunity to share our day’s adventures

Day 3- September 12 (B,D)
  • We start our day with our local guide for a guided tour of Hyannis including the John F. Kennedy Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, Hyannisport and a view of St. Francis Xavier Church (Kennedy family’s summer parish)
  • We’ll explore the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum. Hyannis is where he contemplated his run for the US Presidency
  • Enjoy time on your own for lunching, shopping and exploring
  • Continuing on, we travel to the quaint seaside community of Sandwich, the oldest town on Cape Cod
  • We’ll be surrounded by beautiful art blown from molten glass at the Sandwich Glass Museum
  • Cape Cod Canal Visitors Center offers interactive exhibits and insights into Cape Cod history
  • After a full day of touring, we join together for a buffet dinner at the Historic Dan’l Webster Inn

Day 4- September 13 (B,D)
  • Our local guide will travel with us on Old King’s Highway, a scenic route through centuries of history, on our way to the Cape Cod National Seashore Visitors Center
  • Enjoy eating lunch and exploring the many shops and galleries in Provincetown, located at the extreme tip of Cape Cod. Provincetown is also known as “Land’s End”, and is the acknowledged site of the Mayflower’s landing in 1620
  • Your choice: A “wet adventure”- a whale watching tour with an onboard naturalist, or, a “dry adventure” – a Cape Cod National Seashore Dunes Tour
  • Prior to a restful night, we’ll come together for dinner – a perfect opportunity for you to share your day highlights

Day 5- September 14 (B,D)
  • We again meet our local guide as we again board a ferry – this time to Martha’s Vineyard
  • Upon arrival, we’ll enjoy a sightseeing tour and learn the history and lifestyles of the islanders
  • In Edgartown, a historic whaling town on Martha’s Vineyard, enjoy lunching and shopping
  • Completing your visit, you may wish to take a stroll through Oak Bluff “Cottage City” with its brightly painted cottages and decorative "gingerbread" trim - a unique must-see!
  • Upon our return to the mainland, a lobster dinner awaits us (Alternate entrées will be available for any "landlubbers" not wishing to eat shellfish) ENJOY!

Day 6- September 15 (B)
  • We bid a fond farewell to Cape Cod as we start our journey home with a return flight to Chicago O’Hare
  • For those travelers who purchased the group air package through Legacy Travel Group, upon disembarking from the plane at Chicago O’Hare, you will be greeted by your transfer driver for your return trip to your chosen tour departure location
  • You return home with wonderful memories, unique personal photos and tales of your adventure to share with family and friends
