Daily Itinerary:

Gathering Day - October 20
  • Afternoon pick up to meet the bus and travel to our ‘gathering overnight’ hotel in Mishawaka, IN. 
  • For those spending the night in Mishawaka, get acquainted with fellow travelers and your tour manager, and enjoy a complimentary breakfast the following morning

Friday October 21 (D)
  • Sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful Ohio farmlands and the rolling hills and forests of Pennsylvania
  • We will enjoy dinner together prior to a restful first night of our two-night stay in Gettysburg, PA

Saturday October 22 (B,L)
  • We start our day at the Gettysburg Visitor's Center and Cyclorama. A captivating must-see is the 377' by 42' canvas painting depicting the 3rd day battle of Pickett's Charge
  • On our guided tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield, we’ll learn about the clash that took place between the Union and Confederate armies. The ultimate Northern victory here gave the Union forces a much-needed morale lift – and - ended General Lee’s plan to invade the North
  • We’ll enjoy lunch at General Pickett’s Buffet
  • The rest of the day is yours to explore Gettysburg and have dinner on your own

Sunday October 23 (B,D)
  • Drive through Shenandoah National Park, part of the Blue Ridge Mountains, with beautiful views surrounding us
  • We’ll arrive at Monticello, historic home and primary plantation of Thomas Jefferson
  • Continuing on, we arrive in Williamsburg, VA, known worldwide as the principal center for conserving and interpreting American colonial history
  • After dinner together, enjoy the first night of our two-night stay in Williamsburg, VA

Monday October 24 (B)
  • We’ll start our day with a visit to Jamestown Settlement, a living history museum that includes a re-creation of the original fort
  • The rest of the day is yours in Colonial Williamsburg. There’s something for all to enjoy, including taking part in hands-on activities, taking guided tours of original 18th-century buildings, viewing its unmatched folk art collection, and MORE!
  • Enjoy your free evening to explore and dine at your leisure

Tuesday October 25 (B)
  • Leaving historic Williamsburg, we’ll make our way to the National Museum of the Marine Corps near Quantico, an enduring place to honor U.S. Marines-past, present and future
  • Arriving in the Washington, D.C. area, our first stop will be the Marine Corps War Memorial, dedicated in 1954 to all Marines who have given their lives in defense of the United States since 1775
  • A tour highlight, and sure to be one of our treasured memories, is our visit to and tour of Arlington National Cemetery including viewing the Changing of the Guard Ceremony
  • Washington, D.C at night takes on a different atmosphere. We’ll enjoy an evening stroll of the Jefferson, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Martin Luther King Jr., Korean and Lincoln Memorials
  • Our home-away-from-home the next three nights is at the Hilton Garden Inn in Old Town Alexandria

Wednesday October 26 (B,D)
  • We will start our day with a visit to the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, a Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. The Udvar-Hazy Center displays thousands of aviation and space artifacts, including the Space Shuttle Discovery and a Concorde
  • Returning to Old Town and prior to our meeting for dinner this evening, the day is yours for lunching on your own, relaxing at the hotel or maybe doing some exploring
  • Attending an evening performance at Ford's Theatre is the perfect and relaxing way to end our day

Thursday October 27 (B)
  • We’ve enjoyed Washington D.C. Memorials at night, and we’ll now make daytime visits to the Vietnam Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, the Reflecting Pool and World War II Memorial
  • Free time is yours to explore the Holocaust Museum and Smithsonian Museums
  • If available, we’ll make a stop at the National Archives Museum, home of the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights
  • Enjoy a free evening in Old Town to dine on your own

Friday October 28 (B,L)
  • Tour the historic home of George and Martha Washington at Mount Vernon. To maximize our tour time here, a box lunch is included for our enjoyment
  • Visiting the Flight 93 National Memorial will surely bring back memories of September 11, 2001. This area, once a common field, is now a field of honor
  • Enjoy free time to explore and dine on your own prior to a restful overnight in Somerset, PA
Saturday October 29 (B)
  • Today, we start our travels home
  • Travelers departing the tour in INDIANA, welcome back to your departure locations!
  • Travelers continuing on to Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota, enjoy a relaxing overnight in the Mishawaka area

Sunday October 30 (B)
