Daily Itinerary:

DAY 1 We fly to Portland, Oregon to begin our incredible Oregon experience.  Hilton Garden Inn – Portland, OR

Today features great incredible Oregon scenery as we travel to the Columbia River Gorge.  Our first stop is spectacular Multnomah Falls, which cascades more than 600-feet. According to Native American lore, Multnomah Falls was created to win the heart of a young Indian Princess who wanted a hidden place to bathe.  Traveling onward, we travel through the fruit producing area of Oregon on our way to Timberline Lodge. Dedicated by Franklin Roosevelt in 1937 and declared a National Historic Landmark in 1977, Timberline is one of Oregon’s most popular tourist attractions and considered an architectural wonder.  We enjoy our included lunch here.  We continue on to the awe-inspiring Crooked River Gorge lookout before ending our day in Bend.  Fairfield Inn – Bend, OR (B, L)

Today we visit legendary Crater Lake.  There is no place else on earth that combines a deep, pure lake so blue in color, sheer surrounding cliffs, two picturesque islands and a violent volcanic past.  We have free time for lunch on our own before a Ranger joins us for a lake rim tour (weather permitting). We circle the lake, making several photo stops before we drive down the mountain.  Our home for the next two nights is in the quaint town of Ashland, which is nestled at the base of the Siskiyou and Cascade mountain ranges.  This town is home to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, one of the largest and oldest regional theaters in the country.  We have time to relax before our Oregon Cabaret Theater Dinner Show. Ashland Hills Hotel – Ashland, OR (B, D)

This morning we enjoy a backstage tour of the Shakespeare Festival. We have free time to explore this charming town before we depart for Jacksonville, OR.  Here we learn of Gold Fever, wagon trains, Indian uprisings and the settlement of a new frontier town. The Jacksonville Historic District was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1966. We stop for wine tasting at Valley View Winery before returning to Ashland for a delicious dinner at Beasy’s on the Creek.  After dinner, we enjoy a fantastic play at the Oregon Shakespeare Theater. Ashland Hills Hotel – Ashland, OR (B, D)

Today features more beautiful scenery as well as fun as we are whisked down the Rogue River onboard a Jetboat.  We see the canyon where John Wayne and Katherine Hepburn filmed “Rooster Cogburn” and Matt Dillon plunged into the depths to escape a gang in hot pursuit in “Gunsmoke”. As we return, we visit the OK Corral for a unique lunch experience on an open-air deck overlooking the beautiful Rogue River. We continue on to Coos Bay and our home for the night, The Mill Casino Hotel.  This hotel features stunning waterfront views of Coos Bay and panoramic bay views from every suite.  The Mill Hotel & Resort – North Bend, OR (B, L)

Our first stop today is to experience a Dune Buggy tour, the most scenic way to explore the sand dunes and ocean beach. Climbing and descending through these beautiful impressive dunes is an unforgettable adventure!  Lunch is on our own in Old Town Florence, a picturesque fishing village located on the banks of the Suislaw River.  After lunch, we keep our cameras ready as we head up spectacular Highway 101 on our way to Newport. Nestled between the Coast Mountains, Pacific Ocean and Yaquina Bay, our hotel is located on the oceanfront.  We travel to the historic Bayfront and board the Marine Discover for a cruise of the Bay.  A naturalist guide will help us look for whales, sea lions, oyster farms and explain the sea and shore wildlife.  Next, we take a behind the scenes tour of the Oregon Coast Aquarium and find out what it takes to care for a one million gallon fish tank!  We enjoy a catered dinner in the Shark Tank as we dine under the sea in the “Passages of the Deep”.  Elizabeth Street Inn – Newport, OR (B, D)

Today, we continue north toward the Wine Country of beautiful McMinnville.  We visit the Evergreen Aviation Museum which is home of the Spruce Goose.  Built by Howard Hughes, this airplane is the largest plane ever built entirely of wood. We enjoy free time in Historic Downtown McMinnville where there are thirteen winemakers, three craft brewers, six fine dining options and numerous café’s. This afternoon we visit one of the valley’s most beautiful wineries, Sokol Blosser.  We continue on to our home for two nights.  Doubletree Hotel – Portland, OR  (B, D)

This morning we enjoy the 110th annual Rose Festival Grand Floral Parade & Queen’s Coronation.  We view this parade from comfortable indoor, weather-proof seating. There are  displays the colors, variety and excitement of the 2017 theme celebration which is to be announced.  This parade is the second largest all-floral parade in North America.  The afternoon is free to explore the Rose City of Portland on our own and it is easy to do from our downtown hotel.  Tonight, our farewell dinner will be a cruise aboard the Portland Spirit.  We have a vibrant setting enhanced by dazzling city sights and lights and live entertainment. Doubletree Hotel – Portland, OR  (B, D)

After our included breakfast, we are transferred to the Portland Airport for our flight home.  (B)
